Originally the Tulsa School of Defense, Tattershall-Tulsa focuses primarily on German, Italian and British combatives from the 14th-19th centuries as well as Harnischfechten (Fully Armored Combat).
Harnischfechten and Armor as Worn
Tattershall School of Defense is a signatory to the Dekoven Concord, working to create a safe and consistent understanding of Harnischfecten and Armored Combat.
Fighting in Armor (or Full Harness) can change how one approaches a fight with hand weapons. This style of combat is readily depicted in medieval combat treatises and fechtbuchs (fight-books) with techniques and strategies on what works and what doesn’t against an armored opponent. We practice and apply these techniques in Deeds of Arms and other opportunities.
